Bullies hold Press Conference to Announce Trades

(CBL Newswire) - By Steven Cox of the Banff Free Press

GM Brendan Macgranachan announced several trades at a press conference yesterday at Banff's Gondola Parking Lot. The first trade included a top notch 3rd base prospect and possibly the best 2nd baseman in baseball. Here is how it breakdown:

To Banff: 2B Terrell Huell, SP Fernando Bonjour, PEI's 3rd round pick
To PEI: SP John Murphy, RP Gordon Winsett, 3B Fernando Bilis, Banff's 1st rounder

PEI GM Justin Herrington asked for a high price for Huell, an all-star 2nd baseman and he got it. Banff gave them Bilis, a highly regarded 3rd base propsect, Banff 1st (3rd overall). The Bullies also recieved a under-rated pitcher in Bonjour. Bonjour went 1-1 last year, pitching 29 innings in reilef with a ERA below 6. The next one included a speedy outfielder and a 1-year catcher:

To Banff: CF Turner Czyzewski, 3B Rafael Barthold
To Kelowna: C Enzo Ransone, 3B Alexander Alt

According to Macgranachan, this trade was a "breeze" and was over and done with "faster than you can blink". Banff traded away a good catcher but room had to be made for newcomer Larry Lowenstien. Turner had 21 Stolen Bases in 148 games. Kelowna also received Alt back, who Banff got earlier in the year and Barthold will fill in the hole the Bilis left behind. Here is the final one:

To Banff: TOR 2nd round pick, TOR 3rd rond pick
To Toronto: 1B San Gerould, CF Bryn Sullivan

Banff traded two unwanted players for a couple picks. Gerould was downgraded to 4th on the depth chart during Spring Training, behind Kenoriay Blem, Pokey Pinheiro and Billy Berry. Sullivan also had an awful Sept. Call-Up, batting below .200
