Inside the Dugout - 1st Round Preview

(CBL Newswire) - by B-Mac of the Sherwood Shitrag

The season has come to a stop and the holy beer will be awarded to one of the eight teams that qualified for the post-season. Here is a breakdown into the 4 1st round series:

Cold Lake Mud Cats vs. Saskatoon Yellow Jackets:
This could be a really interesting series. Hell, if you're getting sick of reality TV, this is my pick for the best series in the first round. This series also features lots of talent, especially pitching. Saskatoon has strikeout artist Hooks Fife and Wattie Wiford while Cold Lake has big name, long time CBLers Romeo Nghiem, Pickles Stackpole and Javon Yakow. It will be a long series but I think Cold Lake has the better line-up and pitching to win the series.
Mud Cats in 5.

Moose Jaw Dragons vs. Vancouver Giants:
At the break, Vancouver had a very comfortable lead on Kelowna before a Giants slump and an American win streak that lasted over 10 games. The Giants did recover and held on to the spot by a good 9 games. After getting edged out by Saskatoon in September last year, the Dragons held off the Yellow Jackets to capture another Farmers East pennant. This could be an interesting series. Moose Jaw is about to expire as they have become Kelowna with lots of older players.
The Dragons rating: Pretender; Giants in 4.

Owen Sound Crusaders vs. Guelph Storm:
Another good matchup as division rivals square-off. There are some talented players in both dugouts that could steal games, such as former MVP Ole Ducotey with the Crusaders and Quin Garfinkel with the Storm. I like both clubs, but I have to go with the stronger team.
Owen Sound in 4.

Drummondville Doughboys vs. Charlottetown Blues:
Am I reading this right? Yes, after years with talent but nothing, the Pillsbury Bunch are in the playoff. Don't get too excited because they are playing a stronger team in Charlottetown. I aint got much to say but the D-Boys seem to choke in important games and Blues are sweeping the nation, no, really.
Blues in 3.
