Charlottetown pitchers reel off 38 inning scoreless streak

(CBL Newswire) - by Bull Tallis of the Charlottetown Examiner

Charlottetown's hitters have only scored 7 runs in the past four games. That's been plenty though since the pitchers have only allowed 1
unearned run over the same four games, leading to a 38 inning shutout streak... one that might be extended today. That includes an incredible game against PEI that went 18 innings before a run was scored.

P Quinton Karman, acquired from Saskatoon last season, threw 7 2/3 innings of 2-hit ball on Monday. "Everything's just clicking at the moment. We're not scoring runs right now but we're not allowing any either. Hopefully, it works the other way too!"

For his part, owner John Thronberg is trying to get the offense rolling. "That was our problem last year was that our offense wasn't everything it could be. We're looking at a few deals now, possibly adding a hitter or two, hopefully without sacrificing too much of our veteran pitchers. For that matter, we might be able to add a couple of veteran arms." When pressed further to comment on specific rumours, Thronberg wouldn't say much. "I don't want to let the cat out of the bag too soon. We just sending out feelers at the moment."
