And the new city is ...

Sherwood Park on the Move

(CBL Newswire) - by Elswick Craic of the Sherwood Mail

After a long and enjoyable trip to some Northern Alberta cities, Sherwood Park Ice owner Chris Wilke has announced today that the team is moving to Fort McMurray. Noting that the power poll had nothing to do with his choice, and it was a favorite since day 1, Wilke ended his week long trip excited about his new future home and exhausted from the travel. "Well, we looked into a few things, in Edmonton and Banf, there are already ball parks there that are CBL quality, but we looked into it as why go back somewhere that has already failed before. Red Deer was a nice place, but they couldn't guarantee us a ball club for next season, which isn't a big deal but then the Fort McMurray bid was so much better and it blew the rest of the competition away. They guaranteed the ball diamond be constructed in 6 months, which will be in time for next season's opener. We had no choice but to go there, which is what I figured from the start."

A team nickname has not yet been named.
