Regina throttles Yellowknife

(CBL Newswire) - by Jack Sparrow of the Regina Examiner

Regina 25 - Yellowknife 3

Regina pounded out 29 hits including 6 Homeruns and 8 Doubles on their way to crossing the plate 25 times in a royal thumping of division rival Yellowknife in the Bluenotes own backyard.

Jackie Dent, acquired last season by the defending Farmers East Champions from the Val D’or Sharks, drove in seven runs, collecting four hits including a double and two homeruns.

Every Regina batter collected at least two hits and DH Darius Pavek was the only Pirate not to collect at least one extra base hit.

Bluenotes started Hilario Maxon pitched only one and a third inning, allowing eleven earned runs off of eleven hits and a walk.

The win was the ninth in a current ten game winning streak for the division leading Pirates, and helped to extend their lead to eleven games over second place Winnipeg.
