Farmers East Preview 2024

(CBL Newswire) - From the Dodgeball team in West Kelowna,British Columbia

Saskatoon 83-79

Gaping holes in CF and LF is hurting this team. Pitching looks decent enough to make a real run @ the division this year but the team lacks the big Ace.P. Rikitson has this potential but he was far from great last year with a 5.29 ERA. Will the Yellow Jackets look to make a deal for a premier pitcher or an outfileder is the question and there is'nt any questions about the big bat 1B Cochrane. The slugger is only 24 and has had 36 and 35 hrs in the last 2 seasons,You can expect 40 HRS plus this year!! Eric might finally have a team in the CBL playoffs this year. Rumor has it that fan favorite in Saskatoon C Powell, Andruw is not happy the team went out and traded for C Weiss from St.Paul. Powell went on record saying "I hit 32 homeruns for the this crappy team and they do this to me".

Regina 82-80

Mr. Howard has quietly won this division for the past 6 seasons. C Biesh, Kevin is nice looking young talent. This said I think this is the year Regina is hit by the injury bug. Regina is still the best team on paper in the east but I sense a drop this year. Great closer in Nunn and a VERY solid 1-5 in the starters category. If they escape the injuries then they will win it for the 7th straight season.

Moosejaw 78-84

Strength is the powerfull Outfield and leading the way is LF Hayworth, Johan .261 BA and only 26 HRS last year is sub par for this guy. He should win a few MVP awards before his career is over.1,2,3rd have decent players but these area's could use upgrading. R Cribealar, A. and RHP *Wasdell, Matthew are two guys that are going to have to prove they belong in the starting rotation. Team is in need of a bonifide closer.Very young team that is getting closer to its peak.

Grand Rapids 77-85

Rusty has a GREAT closer in LHP Broderick, Eric. 5th starter is a huge question mark RHP Garett, Paul, Garett had a 3.94 ERA last season but has struggled before that. Staff has a nice anchor in RHP Sidden, Scott. This team lacks the superstar slugger but looks decent is most areas.

Yellowknife 58-104

The hitting is coming along in there rebuild so look for the pitching to follow.Hearst is revamping the team.
