Farmers Central Preview 2024

(CBL Newswire) - From the Dodgeball team in West Kelowna,British Columbia

Calgary Remparts 112-54

The Remparts are a veteran team and will return as the central champs after falling to 2nd the last two seasons. The reason for this will be monster seasons from C Jennings, Charlie and RF Goff, Jason. Questions do loom large in the pitching staff but this will be the season the pitchers figure it out. The Remparts collapsed at the end of 2023 and will be looking to bounce back. Staff ace RHP Satala, Dave had a stellar 2.88 ERA last year. 2B,SS and CF are areas that might be addressed in a trade if possible.

Fort Mac Roughnecks 102-60

The Roughnecks are a team that still hasn’t been to the finals EVER so we here in dodgeball have to wait before crowning them. Sure you might think too many dodgeballs have hit us in the head but history doesn’t lie. Light hitting SS Jennings, Sam @ 70 58 68 is a disgrace to the league. We see loads of bullpen trouble with LHP Misfeldt, Darrold who was rocked hard last year and had a 6.92 ERA to prove it ,and even worse was his 8.13 ERA the year before. RHP Allran, Paul is another BP pitcher and fans tend to shutter when the call goes to the bullpen for Mr. Allran. There are a few other decent players on the team but not enough to get over the hump.

Lethbridge Typhoon 82-80

RHP *McKnight, TJ is going to get called up if the Typhoon show some punch early on. Scouts have said his slider is top notch but velocity is a concern. Batting lineup is YOUNG and lacks speed but the power is there as is the defense. This team has 3 rookies on the staff, not counting Mr. McKnight in the minors. Pitching, defense and power seems to be the direction of the Lethbridge team. Rumor has it that LF *Henander, Joe, the 2nd overall pick last year, has been hitting bombs in BP and had a great spring. This is a team that could sneak up on someone.

Cold Lake Mud Cats 62-100

6 seasons since there last first place finish means you can say the drought has begun. Cold Lake was once the heart and soul of the league but now a team in rebuild mode. There’s tons of young talent which we will get seen in the near future. Dan will have his hands full in a VERY strong division. 1B Saitoh, Moujirou is a great building block.

St Paul Pride 60-102

The trading of C. Weiss shows this team is ready to make needed changes. Expect more movement during the season. My guess is they are in a slight rebuild mode because there are some good players to build around.
