Fishermen Central Preview 2024

a view from Owen Sound

(CBL Newswire) - by Dorian Lines of the Owen Sound Sun Times

Quebec Bulldogs
Division Last Season: 1st
Wins Last Season: 96

Batting
The Bulldogs didn't get closer to .300 mark in 2023 as we suggested, rather they went backwards. But with another quiet off season we still think they have the capability to get there. Traded for in 2022, the Bulldogs will be hoping Geraint Padgett fulfils his potential this season.

Pitching
As mentioned last season, the pitching staff is good, very good, but they're thin on depth. The Bulldogs suffered injuries to Davey Slumpert and Maxime Felt which was the primary reason for the team winning 17 fewer games than in 2022. Felt was showing no ill effects from his late season injury and along with Tanner Franklin, looked good in spring training.

Overall
With no weaknesses and improving pitching this team becomes harder and harder to beat. They should canter to the division title and will be hoping for a lot more luck to go their way in the playoffs. This team should represent the Fishermen in the Battle for the Beer.
