Minh Akim   Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players Hitting The book on Akim is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Akim hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. Baserunning & Defense Akim has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner. Akim is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. 2025 Outlook Akim flat-out isn't ready for this level of competition.
