Pitching
He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. He has an above-average changeup and the ability to throw from a variety of arm angles. He can hit 90 MPH but is too smart to try to get his fastball past most hitters. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders. He struggles away from home.
Defense & Hitting
He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Assenmacher is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Assenmacher has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Assenmacher as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook
Assenmacher has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the Retired or Inactive Players will give him his walking papers before the end of the season. I just don't know if The Retired or Inactive Players are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
