Mac Barnett   Relief Pitcher | Free Agents Pitching When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. Barnett also has a decent changeup. The Free Agents hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Barnett, and that's saying a lot. No one questions this kid's heart. They do question why he just can't get it done late in the game. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders. Defense & Hitting He's average in terms of controlling the running game. Barnett is nothing special in the field. Barnett is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Barnett has some pop in his swing. 2025 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Barnett to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
