Marcello Bond
Relief Pitcher | Guelph Storm
Pitching He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Bond has no endurance. He's good for an inning an outing, tops. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting Runners do not get a good jump on Bond... many have noted that his motion is difficult to pick up. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Bond is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Bond has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Guelph Storm have been known to use Bond as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook The Guelph Storm signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Bond like a hot potato if something better comes along.
