Taiowa Boyd   Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players Hitting The book on Boyd is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Let's face facts: Boyd hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. Even though you might not start him, he's not a bad guy to have on your bench for the tough left-handed reliever. Baserunning & Defense When you play Boyd you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is accurate enough. Boyd has below-average speed and is a poor baserunner. 2025 Outlook One has to wonder what Taiowa Boyd is doing in AA.
