Philippe Bream
Third Baseman | Free Agents
Hitting In past seasons, Bream has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Bream is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Bream always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hangs in well against lefthanders' breaking balls, and some of the pitchers he hits best are the southpaw specialists often brought in to face him.
Baserunning & Defense Bream isn't a fluid third baseman, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. He has a strong, accurate arm. He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical.
2025 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Bream to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.
