Hitting
Brown never has been a patient hitter. But Lee's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.
Baserunning & Defense
His defense is solid but unspectacular. Brown has one of the strongest arms among catchers. Brown doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often.
