Bob Burke
Starting Pitcher | West Bay Red Skulls
Pitching Burke likes to get hitters looking down and away, then ties them up by coming inside with hard stuff, getting a lot of groundball outs. His curveball is solid; he throws it better than your average starter. Burke can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Because he can't overpower hitters, Burke has to fool them instead. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.
Defense & Hitting Burke remains one of the best fielding pitchers in the game's history. He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. Burke is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Burke has some pop in his swing.
