Brian Calvert   Center Fielder | Free Agents Hitting The book on Calvert is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. The Free Agents do tend to sit Calvert when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball. Baserunning & Defense Calvert also has toned down the careless and overaggressive mistakes he used to make. He's still adept at making sliding catches on balls near the foul line. His arm strength is well above average and runners rarely try to take liberties against him. Calvert isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out. 2025 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Calvert to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.           -- Moostard Nyman
