Birdie Capron
Left Fielder | Retired or Inactive Players
Hitting The book on Capron is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. The Retired or Inactive Players do tend to sit Capron when the opposing team throws a lefty. It's no secret he can't touch the left-handed breaking ball.
Baserunning & Defense Capron doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often. Minor league scouts have accused Capron of being a liability in the field. Birdie's arm leaves a little to be a desired.
