Wesley Castaner   Catcher | Retired or Inactive Players Hitting This guy can't hit a watermelon with a lampost. But Wesley's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Castaner always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He is easy prey for any righthander who can throw a slider off the outside corner. Castaner handles lefthanders who bring the ball into his quick hands much better. Baserunning & Defense Castaner isn't a fluid catcher, but he's not afraid to get dirty and gets the job done. Runners take advantage of his weak arm. Castaner isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases. 2025 Outlook Castaner flat-out isn't ready for this level of competition.
