Barron Cochrane
First Baseman | Sask Yellow Jackets
Hitting His strong wrists and hands not only give him explosive power but also impressive bat control. He remains dangerous even with two strikes. He's still a singles hitter at heart, and knows how to shorten up and protect the plate with two strikes. One of the nice things about Barron is that he's a real clutch hitter. Cochrane was a line-drive hitter when he first came up, but over the last few years has become more of a true home-run hitter, lofting more high flyballs. The statistics don't lie: Cochrane gets most of his home runs against lefties. He uses the entire field and has gap power.
Baserunning & Defense Cochrane may be the slowest runner ever to steal 30 bases in a season. He makes up for his lack of speed with a quick first step, uncanny instincts and a peerless grasp of game situations. When you play Cochrane you're not putting him in for his glove. His arm is slightly above average with a quick release.
2025 Outlook Cochrane is in charge when he's at the plate.
