Colin Eade
Relief Pitcher | Guelph Storm
Pitching Not overpowering, Eade succeeds by painting the edges of the strike zone. His fastball is just average, and therefore he relies heavily on placing it in different parts of the strike zone or setting it up with his curveball. Eade also has a decent changeup. Because he can't overpower hitters, Eade has to fool them instead. His composure needs work. When Eade starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success. Eade struggles on the road.
Defense & Hitting His move to first isn't very good, but his delivery is fairly quick and he isn't overly vulnerable to the stolen base. Eade has been regarded as a poor fielder throughout his career, and last year was no different. Eade is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Eade has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook Eade performance in AAA is making it difficult for the Guelph Storm to ignore him much longer. Expect his name to be on the September call-up list. I really like what this kid brings to the table.
