Thomas Foster@
Relief Pitcher | Calgary Remparts
Pitching He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. But Foster, do us a favor. Stop throwing that changeup. It looks like a beachball. In his first taste of the majors, he has kept lefthanders in check but wasn't as effective against righties. It's hard to explain but Thomas Foster plays much better on the road then he does at home. It's unfortunate too, with Foster signing a hefty contract. You gotta imagine management wants a little better relationship between him and the fans.
Defense & Hitting His pickoff move is only fair. He hurts himself by falling awkwardly off the mound in his follow-through, which allows too many balls to go through the middle for base hits. Foster is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Foster has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook The Calgary Remparts signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Foster like a hot potato if something better comes along.
