Anderson Gear
Starting Pitcher | Guelph Storm
Pitching Gear can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. His stuff becomes less sharp as he gets into the late innings. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.
Defense & Hitting His windup, though, makes him an easy target to run on. Gear is agile on the mound, though he makes needless errors when his concentration wanders. Gear is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Gear has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook The Guelph Storm signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Gear like a hot potato if something better comes along.
