Tony Glover
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching If you're going in to face Glover, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. Glover has no endurance. He's good for an inning an outing, tops. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. But Glover, do us a favor. Stop throwing that changeup. It looks like a beachball. When you throw a curveball, it better break. Hanging curves equal earned runs in this league, you just can't get away with them. Unfortunately, Glover's curveball tends to hang. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting Glover will make routine plays, but like most young pitchers he needs more experience to improve as a fielder. Glover has a lousy move to first, and opposing managers will run against him all day. Glover is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Glover has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Glover as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook Glover was a rule-five pickup for the Retired or Inactive Players last year. I think The Retired or Inactive Players just didn't want to be left out of the Rule-V draft, why else would you sign Glover? But if you ask me, I'll pass on Glover.
