Gerry Hale   Shortstop | Retired or Inactive Players Hitting The book on Hale is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Baserunning & Defense Hale doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a couple bases each season without getting caught very often. Minor league scouts have accused Hale of being a liability in the field. Gerry's arm leaves a little to be a desired. 2025 Outlook One has to wonder what Gerry Hale is doing in AA.
