Jason Halvey
Relief Pitcher | Lethbridge Typhoon
Pitching He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup.
Defense & Hitting Basestealers have succeeded against Halvey because his pickoff move is weak for a lefthander. Halvey comes off the mound hard toward the third base side on his delivery, making it difficult for him to field balls to the right side or to cover first base on a close play. Halvey is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Halvey has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook The Lethbridge Typhoon signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Halvey like a hot potato if something better comes along.
