Hitting
The book on Hamasaki is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Hamasaki always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.
Baserunning & Defense
Hamasaki doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a handful of bases each season without getting caught very often. Hamasaki is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt. Dolf's arm leaves a little to be a desired.
2025 Outlook
One has to wonder what Dolf Hamasaki is doing in AA. In all honesty, he could use a lot of work on the fundamentals in the low minors.
