Emil Hanson
Relief Pitcher | Cold Lake Mud Cats
Pitching Hanson's control is among the best in the game. He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. Hanson also has a decent changeup. Because he can't overpower hitters, Hanson has to fool them instead. He's almost as effective against righthanders as he is versus lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting Hanson's move to first base is average. He tends to fall off slightly to the first-base side of the mound, making him vulnerable to bunts toward third base. He makes up for that minor flaw by being aggressive in fielding his position. Hanson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Hanson has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Cold Lake Mud Cats have been known to use Hanson as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook The Cold Lake Mud Cats signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Hanson like a hot potato if something better comes along.
