Anthony Harpole
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching Harpole likes to get hitters looking down and away, then ties them up by coming inside with hard stuff, getting a lot of groundball outs. If you're going in to face Harpole, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Harpole, and that's saying a lot. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting Teams run on him more than they do most lefthanders. Harpole's follow-through leaves him in a vulnerable position, so he has trouble with comebackers. Harpole is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Harpole has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Harpole as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook Harpole was a rule-five pickup for the Retired or Inactive Players last year. I think The Retired or Inactive Players just didn't want to be left out of the Rule-V draft, why else would you sign Harpole? But if you ask me, I'll pass on Harpole.
