Brenden Hollings
Relief Pitcher | Guelph Storm
Pitching He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. If you're going in to face Hollings, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting He never has controlled the running game. He hurts himself by falling awkwardly off the mound in his follow-through, which allows too many balls to go through the middle for base hits. Hollings is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Hollings has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook What The Guelph Storm was thinking when they signed Hollings to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks. One has to wonder what Brenden Hollings is doing in AA. In all honesty, he could use a lot of work on the fundamentals in the low minors. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Hollings.
