Pete Jones   Catcher | Free Agents Hitting He thrives late in games. The book on Jones is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. Jones always has been a line-drive hitter who uses the entire field. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Baserunning & Defense He generally takes one base at a time, though he'll take advantage if an outfielder gets lackadaisical. Jones is a poor defensive catcher. He isn't very mobile or adept at blocking balls in the dirt.
