Carl MacPherson
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. If you're going in to face MacPherson, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than MacPherson, and that's saying a lot. MacPherson has no endurance. He's good for an inning an outing, tops. He frequently leaves fastballs up in the strike zone, where they get pounded. But MacPherson, do us a favor. Stop throwing that changeup. It looks like a beachball. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting He doesn't hold runners very close, which gives his catcher a bit of a workout. MacPherson's follow-through leaves him in a vulnerable position, so he has trouble with comebackers. MacPherson is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but MacPherson has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook MacPherson was a rule-five pickup for the Retired or Inactive Players last year. I think The Retired or Inactive Players just didn't want to be left out of the Rule-V draft, why else would you sign MacPherson? But if you ask me, I'll pass on MacPherson.
