Pitching
Control is his calling card, as he works ahead of hitters without leaving the ball over the middle of the plate. He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. He has an above-average changeup and the ability to throw from a variety of arm angles. His composure needs work. When McPhail starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.

Defense & Hitting
He has a quick pickoff move, but sometimes concentrates on pitching so much that he forgets about runners. McPhail is nothing special in the field. McPhail is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but McPhail has some pop in his swing.

2025 Outlook
McPhail performance in AAA is making it difficult for the Cobourg Stampeders to ignore him much longer. Expect his name to be on the September call-up list. I really like what this kid brings to the table.
