Chief Morris
Starting Pitcher | Yellowknife Bluenotes
Pitching Morris can get into trouble with walks, and there's concern about him being able to maintain his stuff over the whole season. Morris has to keep the ball down, especially against lefties, or he gets hit hard and often. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Morris also has a decent changeup. Dating back to his days in the minors, Morris has been more effective against righthanders than lefthanders.
Defense & Hitting His pickoff move is merely average. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Morris is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Morris has some pop in his swing.
