Adam Navey
Relief Pitcher | Val d'Or Sharks
Pitching He is adept at coaxing groundballs with his sinking fastball and plunging curveball, so hitters try to force him to elevate his deliveries and hope that they'll catch too much of the strike zone. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. The bottom also falls out of his very good changeup. The Val d'Or Sharks hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He tends to work slowly when in a jam, which just makes his problems worse by lulling his fielders to sleep. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.
Defense & Hitting He's average in terms of controlling the running game. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Navey is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Navey has some pop in his swing.
