Monty Orchard   Starting Pitcher | Calgary Remparts Pitching His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Orchard also has a decent changeup. The Calgary Remparts hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. He's trying to develop a sinker, but as of yet it's been well below par. He changes speeds well enough to keep righthanders from teeing off on him. Defense & Hitting His windup, though, makes him an easy target to run on. Orchard's follow-through leaves him in a vulnerable position, so he has trouble with comebackers. Orchard is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Orchard has some pop in his swing. 2025 Outlook If Orchard doesn't perform, the Calgary Remparts won't hesitate to send him down to the minors.
