Clete Padin   Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players Pitching When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. If you're going in to face Padin, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Padin, and that's saying a lot. This man owns lefties. Put it this way, if your lineup is full of them, you might want rethink your lineup. Defense & Hitting He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. He doesn't hold runners very close, which gives his catcher a bit of a workout. Padin is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Padin has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Padin as a pinch-runner on occasion. 2025 Outlook Padin flat-out isn't ready for this level of competition. Expect the Retired or Inactive Players to send him down promptly. But if you ask me, I'll pass on Padin.           -- Moostard Nyman
