Matt Quinn
Starting Pitcher | Halifax Oilers
Pitching His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. He has an above-average changeup and the ability to throw from a variety of arm angles. Quinn also throws a screwball. His pitches lose some movement when he pitches from the stretch position. No one questions this kid's heart. They do question why he just can't get it done late in the game. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting Quinn has an impressive presence on the mound, always taking an aggressive posture. He's average in terms of controlling the running game. Quinn is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Quinn has some pop in his swing.
