Jamie Quinton
Relief Pitcher | Grand Rapids Red Dogs
Pitching He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting Though he lacks a good pickoff move, he checks the running game with a compact stretch delivery. He hurts himself by falling awkwardly off the mound in his follow-through, which allows too many balls to go through the middle for base hits. Quinton is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Quinton has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Grand Rapids Red Dogs have been known to use Quinton as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook The Grand Rapids Red Dogs signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Quinton like a hot potato if something better comes along.
