Hector Rogell
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching Rogell also throws a screwball. Let's just say he's screwy on the field and off... so watch out for that devastating screwball! The key to Rogell's success always has been his ability to keep hitters off balance by changing speeds and spotting his pitches. Rogell also has a decent changeup. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Rogell, and that's saying a lot. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.
Defense & Hitting Rogell expects to be an active participant in the infield defense and does a good job of getting to grounders back up the middle. He has a fair pickoff move and isn't a particularly easy target for basestealers. Rogell is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Rogell has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Rogell as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook Rogell has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the Retired or Inactive Players will give him his walking papers before the end of the season. I just don't know if The Retired or Inactive Players are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
