The book on Rowell is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency.
Baserunning & Defense
Rowell isn't fast, but he's a heady baserunner who rarely gets thrown out. Rowell doesn't read balls well off the bat, misses cutoff men consistently and floats throws to the infield. His arm is accurate enough.
