Tawera Rutt
Shortstop | St Paul Pride
Hitting With his ability to hit for average and his sound batting eye, he makes a good No. 2 hitter. But Tawera's detracters are quick to call attention to his ongoing struggles at the plate with men on base. Let's face facts: Rutt hits a lot of ground balls... and in my book, if you're slow of foot and put the ball on the ground, you're bound to get tied up in the double play. Most of his hits come against lefties. A spray hitter in the classic sense, Tawera puts the ball all over the park.
Baserunning & Defense His defense is solid but unspectacular. His arm is accurate enough. Rutt isn't a good baserunner. He doesn't get good jumps on steals nor runs sharp routes around the bases.
