Skinny Rynne
Starting Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He struggles with his command at times and is still learning to mix his pitches and set up hitters. When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! When you throw a curveball, it better break. Hanging curves equal earned runs in this league, you just can't get away with them. Unfortunately, Rynne's curveball tends to hang. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting His move to first isn't very good, but his delivery is fairly quick and he isn't overly vulnerable to the stolen base. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Rynne is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Rynne has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Rynne as a pinch-runner on occasion.
