Matthias Sandom   Third Baseman | Free Agents Hitting In past seasons, Sandom has been a bit of a liability with men on base. The book on Sandom is that you can knock the bat out of his hands with an average major league fastball. He has a natural lift to his swing, which produces few groundballs. He hits righthanders and lefthanders with equal consistency. Baserunning & Defense He doesn't get good jumps on grounders, but his routes are fine and his hands aren't bad. Sandom has one of the strongest arms among third basemen. Sandom doesn't have great speed, though he reads righthanders' moves well enough to steal a few bases each season without getting caught very often. 2025 Outlook What The Free Agents was thinking when they signed Sandom to a long contract, is beyond me: this guy flat-out sucks.           -- Moostard Nyman
