Teshi Sanematsu
Relief Pitcher | Ottawa Milk Men
Pitching Sanematsu likes to get hitters looking down and away, then ties them up by coming inside with hard stuff, getting a lot of groundball outs. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. His fastball gets into the high 80s, but it's the sink that makes the pitch effective. Sanematsu also has a decent changeup. Steals sometimes unnerve Sanematsu, who isn't blessed with extraordinary self-confidence. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. He doesn't hold runners very close, which gives his catcher a bit of a workout. Sanematsu is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Sanematsu has some pop in his swing.
2025 Outlook The Ottawa Milk Men signed him to a long-term contract, but don't think they won't drop Sanematsu like a hot potato if something better comes along.
