Dallas Schwartz
Relief Pitcher | Retired or Inactive Players
Pitching He can get groundballs when he needs them in a jam. Sometimes I wish he'd just give up on throwing the changeup, it's like a BP ball! If you're going in to face Schwartz, better be wearing plenty of protection. He's wild. You know, some times I think I can throw harder than Schwartz, and that's saying a lot. The running movement on his pitches makes life tougher on lefties than righties.
Defense & Hitting Teams run on him more than they do most lefthanders. Schwartz's follow-through leaves him in a vulnerable position, so he has trouble with comebackers. Schwartz is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Schwartz has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Retired or Inactive Players have been known to use Schwartz as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook Schwartz was a rule-five pickup for the Retired or Inactive Players last year. I think The Retired or Inactive Players just didn't want to be left out of the Rule-V draft, why else would you sign Schwartz? But if you ask me, I'll pass on Schwartz.
