Relief Pitcher | Vancouver Orcas
When healthy, Scott is the prototypical veteran finesse pitcher. He's a good late inning man, which is when being a pitcher really counts. His fastball is just average, and therefore he relies heavily on placing it in different parts of the strike zone. Scott also has a decent changeup. He's almost as effective against lefthanders as he is versus righthanders.
Defense & Hitting
Scott remains one of the best fielding pitchers in the game's history. Basestealers rarely test him. Scott is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Scott has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Vancouver Orcas have been known to use Scott as a pinch-runner on occasion.
The Vancouver Orcas were smart, they locked Scott up to a long term contract. Scott has impressed at the A-ball level. Look for the Vancouver Orcas to give him a shot in Double or Triple A before the year is up. I really like what this guy brings to the table.
