Tim Shellenberger
Relief Pitcher | Victoria Islanders
Pitching Control is his calling card, as he works ahead of hitters without leaving the ball over the middle of the plate. He's got a really stong arm, so he can blow it by you on occasion. Shellenberger's fastball is a tick above average, in the 90-91 MPH range on most nights. He attacks lefties and righties with similar success.
Defense & Hitting He has quick feet and can catch runners napping at first or second base. Shellenberger is nothing special in the field. Shellenberger is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Shellenberger has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Victoria Islanders have been known to use Shellenberger as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook The Victoria Islanders were smart, they locked Shellenberger up to a long term contract. Shellenberger has impressed at the A-ball level. Look for the Victoria Islanders to give him a shot in Double or Triple A before the year is up. I really like what this guy brings to the table.
