Davey Slumpert
Starting Pitcher | Quebec Bulldogs
Pitching Slumpert's control is among the best in the game. He keeps his pitches low in the strike zone and throws a heavy ball. When his release point drops below three-quarters, his fastball tends to hang in the strike zone. He traditionally fares better against lefties.
Defense & Hitting For a lefty, his move to first base is average at best, and he has a tendency to forget about runners at second, thereby creating opportunities to swipe third. He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. Slumpert is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Slumpert has some pop in his swing.
