Pitching
His curveball is solid; he throws it better than your average reliever. The Cold Lake Mud Cats hope he can work on his control a little bit. Every once and a while one slips away from him and either ends up at the backstop or in the right field bleachers. His composure needs work. When Summit starts getting hit, he gets mad and loses concentration. He changes speeds well enough to keep righthanders from teeing off on him.
Defense & Hitting
He isn't especially quick off the mound but generally fields his position adequately. He doesn't have much of a pickoff move and he's slow getting the ball to home plate out of the set position. Summit is a surpisingly good hitting pitcher. And I'm not sure you can say this about a pitcher, but Summit has some pop in his swing. Interesting sidenote, The Cold Lake Mud Cats have been known to use Summit as a pinch-runner on occasion.
2025 Outlook
I can't say I know what The Cold Lake Mud Cats were doing locking this guy up to a long term contract. A questionable call at best. Summit has below average skills, even for the low minors. One has to expect the Cold Lake Mud Cats will give him his walking papers before the end of the season. I just don't know if The Cold Lake Mud Cats are ever going to get what they expect out of him.
